Summer Reading for ages 5-9 Read the rules here! June 16 2:00-3:00 Be Creative with Magic! Come and be entertained as Dinky the Magician performs for you! June 23 2:00-3:00 Be Creative with Books! Leigh Anne Florence, the author of the Woody books, will be here to introduce you to Chloe and Woody the Weiner dogs and stars of her books.  June 30 2:00-3:00 3:00-4:00 Be Creative with Music! The Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra will present an instrument petting zoo! Sessions will be limited so children must be signed up. July 7 2:00-3:00 Be Creative with Origami! Friends from Japan will be here to help us with the beautiful art of origami. Preschool Families: Our preschool summer reading programs are for ages 3-4, and will be books, creative games, and fun crafts! You may sign your child up for either Wednesdays at 10:30 AM (June 17, June 24, July 1, and July 8) or Thursdays at 2:00 PM (June 18, June 25, July 2, and July 9). Preschool Family Program: June 18, 2:00 PM Dinky the Magician will be here to show us the "tricks" of the trade! For all preschoolers. Rules for the 2009 Summer Reading Program: 1. Students can pick up their reading log at the library from June 16 to the 21st. 2. Read and put a mark (your creation) for 30 minutes of reading a day for 4 weeks. 3. Bring your reading log after July 16 into the library to pick up coupons and prizes for reading! 4. Attending programs is optional. |
